That’s why we pride ourselves on our 4 quick and easy ways in which you can submit a claim at your pace, in a way that’s convenient for you. Whether it’s with a few clicks or taps of the finger, or by speaking to a real human being, we have an option that’s right for you.

 

1. Claiming online on the Santam client portal

 

We’ve created a dedicated client portal that is all about putting you in the driving seat of your claims process. For us knowing what’s happening with your claim every step of the way is what insurance good and proper should be. And since you can do it any time, anywhere, there’s no call waiting time or “call back tomorrow” - you do it as and when it suits you, and you can even save a draft of your claim and come back to it later.

 

Simply visit client.santam.co.za, navigate to the Policy page and start the process by clicking ‘Register a claim’. We walk you through the steps in this article. Once you hit ‘submit’, you will receive a claims number via email. Remember that our client site gives you access to your entire insurance portfolio so you can do things such as tracking open claims, viewing your claims history, requesting policy changes and more.

 

2. Use the Santam app to report incidents

 

Use the Santam app to take photos of an accident scene, capture the details of witnesses and other drivers, and send it to us to start your claim. With the Santam Incident Reporter, you can record audio statements, directly upload incident photos, and even call the police. If you’ve already submitted a claim, you can also track its progress on the app, request policy changes or ask to receive updates from us from wherever you are.

 

3. Dial Santam's 24/7 SOS and claims line

 

Call  0860 505 911 any time of the day or night to register your claim. We will appoint one of our highly claim service consultants to your case, who will take accountability for your claim from start to finish, while keeping you updated on its progress. We will also send authorised support services to assist you if necessary - e.g. if you’re stuck on the side of the road.

 

4. Claim via your friendly intermediary

 

If you are accustomed to working through an intermediary, then go ahead and use that option to process your claim. Santam intermediaries are trained to provide our clients with expert advice - including during the claims process to ensure that you compile and send us the correct information. If you have any questions and would prefer to sit down face-to-face with a Santam representative, use this online directory to locate a trusted intermediary in your area.

 

Make a note of the documents you’ll need. Make sure that you have the necessary documentation prepared as you will need to send these to us as part of the claims process - e.g. a SAP (case) number.
